Our nature inspired Casca Huipil was handwoven on a backstrap loom by Marcia and Silvia from La Flor de Xochistlahuaca Women's Cooperative in Mexico.
This stunning traditional Amuzgo design was hand dyed using natural dyes from wild flowers and tree bark. The base of the huipil was dyed with tree bark and the brocade was dyed with wild flowers. The colourful motifs woven into the design represent these wild flowers inspired by Xochistlahuaca's breathtaking landscapes.
Due to their handmade nature, each huipil can take weeks to create from start to finish. This includes hand dyeing, spinning the cotton, weaving the design and hand sewing the side seams.
Wear this divine creation knowing that it is a work of art that holds an incredible history and celebrates ancient techniques.
PLEASE NOTE: The Small designs are a tan colour and the Medium designs are a terracotta colour. Each huipil is one of a kind, refer to the photos for specific designs. If you are interested in a particular design let us know the number in the notes section at the checkout.
