Our divine Valle Bag was handwoven by Roman and his family in Teotitlan del Valle, Mexico. Roman's family handcraft each design using incredibly skilled artistic processes that are traditional to their town. The Zapotec motif present in this stunning design represents the eye of God.
The depth of colours used to create the Valle Bag were derived from all hand dyed. The wool yarn and dyes are boiled together to transfer the dyes and then the colourful yarn is hung out to dry outside. The pedal loom is then prepared to begin the weaving process and create each textile design. This process is traditionally how they make wool rugs, known as tapetes. The textiles were then sewn together with the addition of leather straps to create the Roman Bag, a true work of art!
Each side has a unique textile design with stunning mustard and green tones.
