Taking the conscious road
What a response! We can’t thank everyone enough for all of the support and kind words we have received since the Cielo Collective launch. The love just keeps on coming and we are so thankful. I had my 4 wisdom teeth removed (yes, ouch!) on Friday and it has given me the time to sit down, rest and reflect on what it took to get us here...
Slow
I am the kind of person who likes to move slowly. I like to wake up early and take the time to appreciate the sun’s rays before stepping out of bed. I sit outside and ritually sip my morning coffee, slowly whilst taking in a new day. I love living near the ocean and not having to rush through busy city streets or compete for parking spaces. I enjoy setting my own pace and feeling free by not having to rush through life.
The Dream...
Moacir and I have been home for 3 weeks now and have been adjusting to life back in Australia. Coming back home has been beautiful. There is nothing like the feeling of being reunited with your friends and family. At the same time, our heart is torn between two places. We miss the friends we made in Oaxaca, Chiapas and Guatemala, including all the artisans we met and worked with. We miss our family at Mision Mexico and we miss the breathtaking scenery, incredibly kind people and the uniqueness of each day.
Bright Colours and Bright Smiles
Our last week in Guatemala was all about exploring and celebrating. We took time to celebrate the success of our trip, the connections and friendships we made, the beautiful products that we sourced and the fun challenges we had along the way. Our 4 month journey has come to an end, and we are so excited to head home and share Cielo with the world; we hope that you are all just as excited as we are!
Embrace the Change
Wherever Moacir and I travel to, we seem to constantly come across incredibly creative, hardworking and talented people. Developing relationships and a mutual respect with the artisans we work with has been so important. To have spent time in their homes, their work spaces and with their loved ones, means the world to us.
Bus hopping into Guatemala
First week on the lake and our entry into Guatemala served as a reminder of what this trip is also all about; stepping into the unknown and out of our comfort zone. There was a certain amount of planning before we headed south but nothing could prepare us for the experience ahead.
