One year ago on the 15th of October we launched the Cielo online store. It has been an incredible year full of highs, lows and learning curves. When we arrived in Mexico and Guatemala early last year we had no contacts and no idea where Cielo would take us. We were lucky enough to meet the most beautiful cooperative groups, small family businesses and communities. We learnt about their textiles, their designs and their artistic processes, then with time we learnt so much more about them as individuals, their culture and their passions. They are the ones who make Cielo possible (read more about them here!).
Our Sierra Collection Is Here!
Introducing our new Sierra Collection… three months in the making! That is three months of spinning thread, weaving, sewing and creating pom poms or tassels. The Sierra Collection was hand crafted by two artisan groups; the Weaving Women of Santo Tomas Jalieza in Oaxaca, Mexico and members of the Jolom Mayaetik Weaving Cooperative in San Cristobal de las Casas. The collection includes practical pieces that are beautifully unique, eye catching pieces for the home that create splashes of colour and warmth and gifts that will light up someone’s day.
